Love

This weekend offered a simple example of love that I cannot forget. Eating at the Red Fish Grill and Bar, I witnessed a sweet elderly couple entering the restaurant. The husband pushed his wife into the dining room in her wheelchair and proceeded to their table. There he gently slid her wheelchair next to him at a table in the corner. His wife was not able to sit up straight in her chair, but her husband took such good care of her. He was kind and patient as he helped her by buttering the fresh bread and brought it down so she could enjoy. I was touched just witnessing the love he had for his wife. It was clear that she has had a tough road in regards to her health in her older age; however; her husband was going to do everything he could to serve her.

Just thinking about the exchange between this man and woman makes me a little teary-eyed because of the sweet nature of the couple. It showed me how a husband should treat his wife. It taught me how important loyalty is in a relationship. Looking at this short exchange an indirect one at that, from the outside it proves that we can all inspire change. It goes to show that we never know who is watching.

I didn’t speak a single word to that man or his wife, yet their actions made me want to be better. Their actions softened my heart and reaffirmed that they are lots of good people in this world. We are all in this together; I hope that I have the opportunity to inspire someone else to be a little better through my actions. I want to live a long life so I can prove my loyalty to my loved ones through not just words, but actions as well. I want to make sure my wife knows how much I adore her. I promise to do my best to make her feel loved every day of my life.
